Winter Solstice Energy: 6 Steps to Align and Embrace Your Brilliance

How Women Can Harness the Winter Solstice to Tap into Inner Brilliance

If life has felt like a whirlwind lately—full of responsibilities, to-do lists, and a nagging sense of not enough time—this post is for you. I want you to take a moment to pause, to breathe, and to remember: the world moves in seasons, and so do you.

On December 21st, we welcome the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year. It’s not just a turning point on the calendar; it’s an invitation. A quiet whisper from nature: “Slow down. Turn inward. Come home to yourself.”

Let’s rewind to mid-June for a moment. Do you remember the summer solstice? The energy back then felt alive, didn’t it? The days were bright, vibrant, and long. The sun seemed to pull us outward—to adventure, to say “yes” to everything, to fill our calendars and chase the light. That expansive energy was exhilarating.

But now, the energy has shifted. The days are shorter, the nights are longer, and the world feels a little softer, quieter. And while modern life doesn’t always make space for this change, you need it more than you realize.

Why the Winter Solstice Matters (Especially for High-Achieving Women)

Let’s be honest: if you’re reading this, you’re probably a woman who does it all. You’re driven. You’re ambitious. People look to you for answers, for strength, for leadership. But holding it all together takes energy, and when you’re constantly on the go, it’s easy to feel drained, overwhelmed, or like you’re simply moving through life on autopilot.

The Winter Solstice is your permission slip to stop. To rest. To listen to yourself.

Because here’s the truth: you can’t lead, create, or thrive when your cup is empty. You can’t fully show up for others if you’re disconnected from yourself.

This solstice, let’s flip the script. Let’s honor the quiet, the pause, the stillness—so you can step into the next season of your life feeling aligned, refreshed, and ready to shine.

How to Honor Yourself During the Winter Solstice

I know what you might be thinking: “Rest? Pause? Sounds lovely, but who has the time for that?”

You do. I promise.

This isn’t about escaping to a cabin in the woods for a week (though that does sound dreamy). It’s about finding small, intentional moments to reconnect with yourself. Even 10 minutes can be transformative if you allow it.

Here’s a simple Winter Solstice ritual to help you come back to you:

1. Claim 10 minutes for yourself.

Yes, you. Schedule it. Treat it like the most important meeting of your day.

2. Find your quiet space.

It could be your favorite chair, your bedroom, or even your car parked beneath a tree. Anywhere you can be alone.

3. Settle in and take a deep breath.

Close your eyes. Feel your feet on the floor. Let yourself arrive.

4. Release the noise.

Picture all the swirling thoughts—the stress, the to-dos, the expectations—floating outside of you for now. You can pick them back up later if you need to.

5. Breathe deeply.

Focus on the rise and fall of your breath. Let each inhale fill you with calm and each exhale release tension.

6. Ask yourself: “What do I need right now?”

Listen for the answer. It might be rest, stillness, connection, or something more. Your authentic self knows. Let her speak.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about giving yourself the gift of being instead of always doing.

In this quiet space, you’re at a turning point. Will you let the season’s stillness guide you inward, or will you push through the noise and chaos like always?

Here’s What I Want You To Remember: You Have A Choice.

Choose rest over burnout.

Choose connection over overwhelm.

Choose love over fear.

Choose you.

When you take this time to reconnect with yourself—when you allow your energy to rest and realign—you create space for the clarity, purpose, and strength you need to step into the year ahead.

Your Light Still Shines Brightly

Even in the darkest night, the solstice reminds us of an incredible truth: the light will return.

And so will yours.

This is your time to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the woman you are becoming. The woman who is capable of leading, creating, and thriving—without losing herself in the process.
